The LED Wind-Up Lantern is another of those simple but great ideas that make you wonder why you wasted so much time with anything else. It measures approximately 15cm in height and has a black and silver base with a frosted bulbous sphere where five LEDs emit light with impressive muscle for their small size.
 | Simply wind up the built-in generator with the fold-out handle under the base of the lantern and you have super-bright light thanks to its LED technology. One minute's winding is enough power to produce 30 minutes of light, so the box says, but we found it lasted a lot longer. A black button on the side of the base turns the light on full power, press again for a soft night light and a third time to switch the light off completely. Fully charged, the LED Lantern produces 4 hours of constant light and 60 hours of soft night-light. |
There's a clip under the base so you can mount your lantern on the wall, as well as a fold-away handle so you can hang it wherever there is a hook, or branch.
