"I bought this for the PC as well as the Netgem IPlayer Freeview and Internet set top box. The Netgem detected this as a storage device and I inserted a 5-year-old floppy disk. I then viewed the images, opened folders and viewed their images, too. For some USB devices, I use a 4-port USB hub and if memory pen drives are inserted then these are detected and I can then copy one image to or from the formatted floppy drive. Those with PCs can obviously transfer loads of files using Windows and drag-and-drop actions. Netgem and BT Interactive Adapters set top box users may appreciate this USB floppy drive yet there's also the possibility of modern DVD players having USB ports allowing extra options eg rotate picture. Besides jpgs and other image formats, also consider animated gifs and so on. The Netgem offers its users email image attachments options as well as saving a screen capture of a Freeview programme. FTP uploading of a file to your website is also available or emailing an image to a flickr or tripod album. Once an image is on the Internet, online graphics editors can manipulate the fetched image and you could save it to your website or have it emailed to your account. POP email accounts can be added to the Netgem IPlayer so you can save the image to the USB drive. Whether for PC or Internet set top box, or DVD player, this USB floppy drive could be very helpful. I've previously used the Integral Courier USB 1 GB flash drive and this latest floppy drive gizmo is a welcome addition, thanks to yet another gizoo email update."
